Chistopher F. Blodi, M.D. was born in Iowa. He earned a medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He received his fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Iowa where he held a full-time faculty position for six years before cofounding Iowa Retina Consultants with Dr. Heilskov in 1992.

Dr. Blodi retired from practice at Iowa Retina Consultants in August 2018.
